Wednesday, July 10, 2002: (ERRS-7, START-2, EPA-1, Security-1) Temp 104 to 110 degrees. ERRS/START worked to open, sample, and hazard categorize the drums in the "drum area" near the wetland. START reported field analytical results from the soil samples to be ND(0.06ppm) to 3.7 ppm pentachlorophenol. OSC directed START to collect confirmation soil samples from the excavation. ERRS continued to crush drums, remove old lead-acid batteries, and the aerosol containers of pesticides. ERRS conducted an assessment of the saddle tanks of the partially submerged Semi-tractor trailer on site.
Wednesday, July 10, 2002: (ERRS-7, START-2, EPA-1, Security-1) Temps 104 to 110 degrees ERRS filled one rolloff box with crushed drums. ERRS/START finished sampling and determining the hazards in drums from the major drum area. Vacuum trucks arrive on site and begin to remove Glycerin wastes from drums (this phase of the project is funded by the Colville Tribe). Additional waste paint-related materials removed from the greenhouse area. ERRS/START working to identify contents in the drums located in the cattails at edge of the wetland. One vacuum truck of glycerin leaves the site.

OSC interviewed by Quad City Herald - local newspaper. USFW did not have data to support pigmy rabbit sighting and stated that EPA should be cautious when completing removal actions near the "corral area" Vacuum truck from West Coast Marine released 3-5 ounces of oil from their hoses. Oil was not related to site, but from a previous job. ERRS cleaned up release and reported it to the state.
