Time-Critical Pollution Report (POLREP) #5
Start Date: 4/10/2001
Pollution Report (POLREP) #5
Current Activities
The crews continue to dismantle the building.  All the debris and materials have been removed and is either in roll-off boxes or staged and ready for transport to the disposal facilities.

Planned Removal Actions
Following the removal of the building, the slab will be removed, the septic tanks will be drained and removed, and a limited amount of soil excavation will occur.

Key Issues
Disposal profile approval is delaying the progress of the removal action.  Disposal will involve two facilities.  One facility required an additional analysis, full TCLP on the soil, even though most of the TCLP analytes were not present in the previous analysis for totals.

The Army Corps of Engineers, the agency with the prime disposal contracts, was made aware of the approval process and acted on one of the facilities but has yet to seek assistance on the other facility.
