Pollution Report (POLREP) #6
Current Activities
The crews are excavating the contaminated soil from near and underneath the building pad.  One hotspot at the seam of the two buildings has been identified as Cesium-137 and is significantly contaminated.  The 'tracer lab' was directly above the hotspot but it is unknown if the cause was from the lab.  The other building or what is referred to in reports as the Source Room was above that spot.

Other material, including the Europium beaker, are being packaged in concrete and readied for shipment.

Planned Removal Actions
The cleanup contractor, Pangea Group, will complete excavation of the Site.  The Site will be surveyed by Pangea, the Texas Bureau of Radiation Control, and assisted by EPA's ORIA Lab to determine the cleanup has met the cleanup standards.

Next Steps
Continue to prepare and ship material and debris to the disposal facilities.  Complete the excavation. Conduct Survey of Site.
