Pollution Report (POLREP) #4
Site Description
For Site Description and Background Information, please refer to previous POLREPs.

Current Activities
The following activities were conducted during this reporting period:

-  All of the personal items have been screened for vapors.
-  All of the linoleum and glue under the linoleum has been removed from the house.
-  Mercury was found in a window sill of a back bedroom and vacuumed and cleaned.
-  A quick raise of the temperature in the house on Sat. afternoon revealed that it was still above action levels and that the source was from the cabinets in the kitchen and the drain in the kitchen.
-  The floor of the cabinets was removed and cleaned which brought the levels down, but vapors were still coming from the pipe leading to the septic tank.
-  A plumber was hired to advise us on how we can keep the vapors from coming into the house and he told us that the septic tank vents to the attic not the air around the house.

Planned Removal Actions
The following activities are planned for the next reporting period:

-  The house will be sealed tonight (Sun.) and checked in the morning to see if the house will be below Action Levels; if it doesn't, additional heating and venting may be necessary.

Next Steps
Once the house passes the closure test, the furniture and personal belongings will be placed back into the home.
