Site Description
On February 11, 2008 Marathon Pipeline Company notifed the National Response Center of a discharge from a crude oil pipeline passing through Winchester, Clark County, Kentucky.  Through followup calls with the responsible party and the Kentucky Department of Environmental Protection (KYDEP), EPA learned that the volume of the discharge was estimated at 200 bbls (8,400 gallons) and was ongoing.  Marathon reported that the oil was currently contained in a pond downgradient from the pipeline rupture.
