Start Date: 8/1/2008
Pollution Report (POLREP) #5
Current Activities
The latest figure on amount of diesel recovered from storm drains is 10,400 gallons.

There was rainfall over the weekend but no sheen appear on the wetland pond.  ATT will no longer do 24 hour monitoring of the pond.

Operations ceased on Sunday.

Planned Removal Actions
Continue removal of product found on site as well as peeling back asphalt to explore for more fuel.

Replace sausage booms from catchment basins.

EPA will get a site-specific sampling plan approved.  EPA intends to sample headspace in plastics into which booms are placed.  These will be compared against booms that were placed in background catchment basins.  Readings of low volatile organic compounds in the headspace will be an indicator of thoroughness of diesel removal from storm drains.

There will continue to be daily sampling of pond water.

Schnitzer West property owners/leasors at North Creek will be told they can now use their landscape irrigation sprinklers.

Next Steps
The next operational period runs from 0900 Monday 8/11 to 0900 Thursday
