Pollution Report (POLREP) #1
Site Description
At approximately 2300 MST on January 7, 2009 the Chevron Pipeline company recorded a pressure drop on a 6" crude oil pipeline near Bonanza, UT.  Subsequent investigations indicated that at least 1400 barrels of oil were relesed into a drainage area that feeds a Tributary to the White River.  The initial assessment indicates that the majority of the oil was caputred in an irrigation canal. Due to the time of year the irrigation canal was dry and dammed OSCs Steve Way and Steve Merritt, along with two START members have been dispatched to oversee PRP response operations.

The spill location appears to be entirely on land owned by the BLM.
