Contaminated soil from the on-site stockpile was processed by ERRS in the following manner: the soil was screened in a 3 inch vibrating screen, mixed amendments were added, the soil and amendments were placed in the pug mill for mixing, and finally, the mixed material was collected with the loader and placed in the cells. Soil was shaken from the loader bucket while water trucks soaked the soil. An excavator was used to further homogenize and wet soil in the burrito. Two burritos were completed in this manner. Following completion of burrito loading, each burrito was covered with liner material, glued to the bottom piece, and keyed into a ditch surrounding the perimeter. Burrito vents/sampling ports were installed.
ERRS will continue treatment cell construction, building as many as 9 cells. All contaminated soil will be processed as discussed above.
