Current Activities
As of October 2, 2008, 27 residential properties with acute arsenic levels have been excavated and restored.  The last 2 properties are scheduled to begin excavation on Monday, October 6.  It is expected that all properties will be excavated, back filled and restored by Friday, October 10, 2008.

There were 11 properties identified for clean up that we were not able to get to for different reasons:  foreclosure, illness of residents, denied access, or simply no response to our many calls and notifications, nor to the City of Minneapolis order to comply.

When we mobilize this year we had 32 properties identified for clean up.  Remedial added an additional 7 properties to our list for a total of 39.  By the end of next week we will have completed 28 of those properties.  A property with chronic levels of arsenic was addressed during this effort in order to gain access to another property.  Therefore, a total of 29 properties were addressed.  11 we were not able to cleaned up.

Planned Removal Actions
Excavate and restored the 2 remaining properties, and demobilize from site.

Properties with acute levels of arsenic that we were not able to address, will be referred to the remedial program.

Next Steps
This project is listed on the National Priorities List.  The Remedial Program will address properties with chronic arsenic levels.
