Work Mission Statement:
Safely and efficiently investigate and remove Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC); Materials Potentially Possessing an Explosive Hazard (MPPEH), Munitions Debris (MD) and explosively contaminated soil(TNT) from the Elkton Farms Firehole Site, as defined in EPA's geophysical study.
During this reporting period the intrusive activities continued within grids: B4,G6,K5,C4,J5. These activities included magging and flagging of all metal items and the hand digging/shovelling of these flagged materials.
The FOSC continues to conduct a weekly conference call with MDE and USACE. This was instituted to assist with site communications.
The Rangemaster, originally scheduled to arrive on site on April 17 will not arrive until the week of May 1. As of Friday, April 28, one access agreement still was not finalized with one of the property owners. The FOSC, ORC and the USACE were attempting to negotiate the appropriate language so as to effect the access for the Rangemaster on May 1.
The Rangemaster will initiate Phase II activities (high dense grids). However Phase I activities will continue parallel to the Rangemaster ops.
On April 24, work was interrupted for 1.5 hours due to inclement weather. In addition the subcontractor which owns and operates the Rangemaster (Timberline Inc.) arrived on site to commence the mobe. Timberline established a command post adjacent to the site command post.

Timberline project manager stated his concerns regarding the site soil moisture content and its impact on the Rangemaster ops. A large dozer (D8) may need to be mobed in order to effect Rangemaster mobility.
