Site Description
Work Mission Statement:

Safely and efficiently investigate and remove Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC); Materials Potentially Possessing an Explosive Hazard (MPPEH), Munitions Debris (MD) and explosively contaminated soil(TNT) from the Elkton Farms Firehole Site, as defined in EPA's geophysical study.            


Current Activities
The site was remobed on January 21, 2008 with a limited crew.  One UXO team was mobed.  Team will continue magging and digging activities in remaining Phase I grids.  On Feb. 1 the team completed grid L1c.  Work will continue on remaining Phase 1 grids as the OSC continues to finalize the SOW for Phase II grids including the fireholes.  

The EPA and MDE met with the property owner on Feb. 5 to discuss and further the SOW for Phase II grids.  Meetings are pending with EPA Region 3 management as well as the County Commissioners.
