Site Description
Please refer to POLREP #1 for site description and previous actions taken.









Current Activities
Removal activities for this reporting period include:

The Emergency Response and Removal Services (ERRS) contractor continues site removal activities including:
- Excavation and backfilling of grids 01-9a, located on the northwestern end of the Site;
- Stockpiling and treatment of excavated soils;
- 100% Recycling of collected metals from the former foundry;  
- Transportation and disposal of 90% of the construction material from the demolition of the old foundry building;
- All transformers, capacitors, and chemicals securely packaged and stored on Site are awaiting profiling and disposal.

The Superfund Technical Assessment and Removal Team (START) contractor continued removal activities including:
- Technical support;
- Implementation of site-specific HASP;
- Air and water monitoring to measure migration of contaminants of concern, off Site during the removal process;
- Completion of soil sampling for RCRA metals from one residential property and a road leading to the former foundry;
- Confirmatory screening and sampling of excavation activities;
- and site documentation.  


Planned Removal Actions
The planned removal actions for the next reporting period include:

- Transportation and disposal of treated soil stockpiles will begin.


Next Steps
The next steps anticipated during the removal process include:

- Excavation and backfilling of a residential property located to the western end of the Site;
- Excavation of grids 53-68, along the western end of the Site;
