On February 8, 2008, the California Department of Fish and Game (DFG)walked the unnamed tributary and declared it visually clean. On February 9, 2008, OSC Wise, PST and Greka's contractor walked the unnamed tributary and identified areas that require additional work. The additional work appeared to areas of new seeps.
1. Completion of the cleanup of the unnamed tributary is expected to be complete on February 10, 2008. 2. Sampling of the unnamed tributary by Greka's consultant. 3. Disposal of all contaminated soils off-site. 4. Discharge of all produce water and sparge water generated during the cleanup to the injection wells at such time that Greka is allowed to turn on their injection wells. This is subject to Greka completing the removal to EPA and DFG's satisfaction and meeting of Santa Barbara County's requirements. Only SBCo. Fire Department can remove the stop work order to allow resumption of injection activities. 5. Restoration of all private property damaged by the spill or response operations by Greka.
Greka's contractor, accompanied by the OSC Representative (PST) will remove oil from the few areas identified during the Feb. 9 site walk. Greka will remove contaminated concrete using a backhoe.
Greka is not allowed to conduct any cleanup operations in the creek other then the removal of the contaminated concrete. This is due to the February 1, 2008 amendment to the 311 Order.
