Site Description
The Site is located at 529 South Royal Avenue, Florence, Lauderdale County, Alabama.  The Site is located in a semi-densely populated inner city area surrounded by a mix of commercial, industrial, and residential development.  The former electroplating facility electroplated bumpers and other automotive parts for distribution from its warehouse located on-site.  A branch of Sweetwater Creek is located 10 feet from the building to the east.  



Current Activities
On April 30, 2009 the EPA completed removal activities at the Richards Plating Site.  All wastes and debris were disposed of from the Site.  The Site was regraded, reseeded, and proper erosion controls were installed prior to demobilization.  EPA, START, and ERRS contractors demoblized from the Site on April 30, 2009.

Bulk Non-Hazardous Liguids - 4500 gallons
Flammable Liquids - 55 gallons
Non-Regulated Liquids (oil) - 55 gallons
Non-Hazardous Solid/Sludge - 10,000 lbs
Acid Liquid with Metals - 1375 gallons
Misc Hazardous Drums - 10,113 lbs
Non-Hazardous Sludge - 30 tons
Non-Hazardous Soils - 233.22 tons
