During the reporting period, activities at 1234 Loflin Hill Road included continued excavation around the home, loading out of 47 trucks with contaminated soil and scraping of the sloped bank at the front of the property. Activities at 1241 Loflin Hill Road included location of utilities by hand digging and placement of silt fence around the property.
The Removal Action at the 5 affected residences will involve a combination of excavation and capping with a barrier of clean soil of up to 2 feet and restoration. Residents will be relocated while activities are conducted at their residence.
The property at 1234 Loflin Hill Road will be backfilled/capped followed by restoration and residents will be moved back into their home. After all hand digging has been completed, residents in 1241 Loflin Hill Road will begin temporary relocation and excavation will start on the property.
ERRS crew broke a water line on 1241 Loflin Hill Road while trying to locate utilities by hand digging; a plumbing company came out and the line was fixed. Work must be completed on these two properties by 11/19/2004 so that residents will be back in their homes for Thanksgiving.
