Current Activities
During this reporting period approximately 2 gals of oil  were retrieved.  The new updated totals are now as of June. 30, 2012: 4,563 gals of oil and 52,183 gals of contaminated water retrieved. Approximately 2 gallons of oil was collected over the last 7 months thereby showing that subsurface pool of oil has been recovered.  A final site walkthru is pending.

During the month of June, 2012 the RP initiated and completed soil excavation activities at the farm.  An area as large as 60 ft by 90 ft and 1.5 ft in depth was excavated , transported and disposed of according to the approved Work Plan.  Maryland Department of the Environment inspectors performed oversite of this activity.  Soil samples in five locations within the cutout floor were retrieved and analyzed for TPH - DRO and GRO.  These activities were also overseen by MDE personnel.

Soil results returned in early July indicated TPH - DRO at 4 of the 5 sample locations greater than the 5 mg/kg standard established by the AOC.  The results were 37mg/kg, 17mg/kg, 31mg/kg and 36 mg/kg.

On July10, 2012 representatives from Fogles Septic, MDE and the FOSC met at MDE offices in Baltimore.  The RP representatives petioned for relief from the 5Mg/kg standard in lieu of state promulgated standard of 220 mg/kg for TPH.  MDE reps agreed, with caveat that a permanent structure/shed (which RP had already planned to construct)  be erected at the excavation location.  All parties agreed that field work under this AOC is now complete and the administrative portion can be finalized pending submittal and approval of final report.

No problems were encountered during this reporting period.
