Current Activities
11/18/02 (1 HSA, 4 Foss, 2 G.L.Palm, 2 River’s Edge)
Two truck loads (30 yards per load) of Mill Pond tailings hauled to East Wenatchee landfill.  Second truck/pup trailer in shop for repairs.  Foss removing pipe and other metal and wood debris from Mill building to facilitate Vac truck operations.  Vac truck operations slowed by plugging of hose by very fine-grained ore from fine ore bin.

11/19/02 (1 HSA, 4 Foss, 2 G.L.Palm, 2 River’s Edge)
Two truck loads of Mill Pond tailings hauled to East Wenatchee landfill.  Second truck/pup trailer still in shop for repairs.  Foss continuing with pipe, metal, and wood debris removal.  Vac truck work still progressing slowly in fine ore bin.

11/20/02 (1 HSA, 4 Foss, 2 G.L.Palm, 2 River’s Edge)
Two truck loads of Mill Pond tailings hauled to East Wenatchee landfill.  Second truck/pup trailer still in shop for repairs.  Foss continuing with pipe removal in Mill building.  Vac truck still removing material from fine ore bin.

11/21/02 (1 HSA, 4 Foss, 2 G.L.Palm, 2 River’s Edge)
Two truck loads of Mill Pond tailings hauled to East Wenatchee landfill.  Second truck/pup trailer still in shop for repairs.  Foss finished with pipe removal in Mill building.  Vac truck nearly finished in fine ore bin.  HSA preparing proposed decontamination Work Plan addendum to structurally modify the truck ramp and coarse ore bin to allow ore removal with large excavator.

11/22/02 (1 HSA, 4 Foss, 2 G.L.Palm, 2 River’s Edge)
Two truck loads of Mill Pond tailings hauled to East Wenatchee landfill.  Second truck/pup trailer still in shop for repairs.  Foss beginning dismantling of process equipment in Mill building.  It is decided that some processing equipment (and associated residual CW/DW) that is too big to easily dismantle/remove at this time will necessarily remain in the Mill until after demolition.  Vac truck finished removing material from fine ore bin, and began removing CW dust from flotation/comminution level.  HSA submitted proposed Workplan addendum for coarse ore bin modification/removal.

11/23/02 (1 HSA, 2 Foss, 2 River’s Edge)
No Mill Pond tailings hauled today because East Wenatchee landfill closed.  START engineering approved proposed Work Plan addendum for coarse ore bin modifications/removal.  Removal of dilapidated truck ramp initiated by Foss and HSA.  Foss also still dismantling process equipment and removing debris in Mill building.  Vac truck still removing CW dust from flotation/comminution level.  Progress slow due to plugging of filters by fine material as well as presence of small debris mixed with dust clogging hose.

11/24/02 (1 HSA, 1 G.L.Palm, 2 Foss, 2 River’s Edge)
No Mill Pond tailings hauled today because East Wenatchee landfill closed.  One truck/trailer loaded in preparation for early morning departure on 11/25/02.  Ongoing removal of dilapidated truck ramp continued by Foss and HSA.  Foss also still dismantling process equipment and removing debris in Mill building.  Vac truck still removing CW dust from flotation/comminution level.  Progress still slow due to plugging of filters by fine material as well as presence of small debris mixed with dust clogging hose.  Cold temperatures resulted in freezing of water lines used for decon and dust control, further slowing progress.

Planned Removal Actions
Continue with removal efforts in the Mill facility and Mill Pond.

Next Steps
- Continue Vac truck operations in comminution/flotation level.
- Set up enclosure with space heater to eliminate water line freezing problems.
- Arrange for rental and access to site of large excavator to remove material from coarse ore bin.
- START to continue preparation of Site-Specific Sampling Plan for confirmation sampling.

Key Issues
- Continued slow progress of Vac truck operations and other operations.
- Slow progress resolving coarse ore bin removal difficulties.
- Delay of Demolition Work Plan.
- EPA/START to determine level of detail required for cultural resources survey for State Historic Preservation Office.
