Current Activities
Due to the RPs lack of funding.  The EPA has taken over the removal of approx. 1200 cubic yds of Mill Pond tailings and the 2500gals of RP generated IDW wastewater.
- ERRS mobilized to the site on 9 Nov 03 and the removal began 10 Nov 03.
- The tailings were taken to the RCRA D landfill in Wenatchee (same location as the RP).
- A layer of organic-rich silt and clay material below the tailings failed TCLP for Cd. This hazardous material was also excavated and taken to a RCRA C facility in Idaho.
- Due to capacity and poor weather, 50 cubic yds of mixed material was stockpiled in place and sampled.
- The IDW wastewater was removed by ChemWaste on 14 Nov 03.
- During the removal, START was onsite using an XRF to confirm that clean material had been reached. Samples were sent for laboratory confirmation.

Planned Removal Actions
It is possible that EPA will need to step in and remove additional hazardous waste if the RP does not have the funding. Based on current estimates, there is enough remaining capacity on the ERRS Task Order to complete this work.

Next Steps
- Continue to oversee the building demolition and placement of concrete into the former tailings pond.
- Provide oversight of RP removal of DW located under the building foundation.
