1.1.2 Site Description

United Production Tank Battery has one 210 barrel tank with two oil wells: Warren Harang #2 and #3, and associated production equipment. There is approximately 175 barrels of oil and oil contaminated water contained in the tank.  EPA recently conducted a cleanup of a United Production facility less than one mile east of this site.


1.1.2.1 Location

The United Production abandoned oil production facility is located in the Valentine Oil and Gas Field

(Field ID: 9096), in Section 006, Township 17 South, Range 20 East, LaFourche Parish, Louisiana. The facility is accessed from the south-southwest via an unnamed access road off of Louisiana Highway (LA Hwy) 308.

The facility poses a threat due the quantity of oil contained in the tank, the proximity to a navigable water, inadequate containment and the facility being presumed to be abandoned.
