    2.1.1 Narrative

The cleanup is being directed by a Unified Command consisting of the EPA OSC, the CADFG Office of Spill Response and Prevention (OSPR) Game Warden (State IC), OCPW and Huntington Beach Fire Department (HBFD).  The cleanup is being conducted Orange County Public Works. (OCPW).

2.1.2 Response Actions to Date

The START collected sediment samples as part of assessment of the assessment of the sediment in the channel.  The samples were submitted to Alpha Analytical, Woods Hole, MA and the data analyzed by Dr. J. Payne, a nationally recognized expert on oil contaminated sediment fingerprinting.  Based the analysis, Dr. Payne determined that there was not sediment contamination that unambigously identified specifically to Angus.  The sediment petroleum hydrocarbon samples collected in the affected channel in the were the same as the background samples collected.  Based on this determination, no sediment removal is necessary.

No further action is required for this response.  All cleanup activities under this FPN have been completed.
