Additionally, approximately 27,000 cubic yards of clean material was excavated from an on-Site borrow source and was incorporated as part of the protective barrier and was placed elsewhere on-site to restore grade; and approximately 4,000 cubic yards of woody debris was scattered on the surface of the repository, borrow site, and other disturbed areas to discourage use, to stabilize these areas against surface erosion, and to provide wildlife habitat.

Since the initial POLREP, all mine waste material was excavated from subareas found throughout the Site, including the Upper Level Mine, Lower Level Mill, and Drainage Ditch Subarea, Tailings Accumulation Subarea, and Man-Made Ditch and Downgradient Ditch Subarea. All excavated materials and other concrete, metal, and other wood debris were consolidated beneatth a protective barrier at the repository located in the Lower Level Mill subarea.
