2.1.2 Response Actions to Date
On April 12, 2012, Trihydro discharged approximately 6,500 of GAC system treated northeast area stormwater to Oil Creek.
- Trihydro pumped Tank 51 secondary containment and primary separator water into the southwest area storm sewer.
- AVS was on site to discuss sewer jetting and to retrieve a broken down pump.
- AMI worked on the berm portion of their French drain system with an excavator.
On April 13, 2012, Trihydro pumped water in the southwest area into the northeast area for eventual treatment by the GAC system and discharge to Oil Creek.
- TM Salvage was on site to drop off 20 cyd and 30 cyd roll-off boxes for collecting scrap metal.
- AMI placed seeded erosion control fabric on their permanent berm.
On April 16, 2012, 2” of rain fell over the weekend.
- Trihydro pumped water in the southwest area and Tank 51 secondary containment into the northeast area for eventual treatment by the GAC system and discharge to Oil Creek.
- AVS was on site setting up for sewer jetting.
- AVS pumped northeast area storm sewer water into Tank 6, Tank 7, and the east containment.
On April 17, 2012, Trihydro discharged approximately 23,000 of GAC system treated northeast area stormwater to Oil Creek.
- AVS began jetting northeast area storm sewers.
- Sludge/water from jetting is being loaded into the east solidification pit.
- TM Salvage collected stockpiled scrap in the northeast area and started removing scrap aluminum and insulation from pipes in the Tank 51 secondary containment.
- US EPA and the PRP Group confirmed a community meeting for 10:00 AM April 26, 2012 at ESI.
The wood pulp and sawdust solidification materials are reclaimed/recycled products. As of April 17, 2012, approximately 15,250,000 pounds of wood pulp solidification media and 1,800 tons of sawdust solidification media have been used to solidify sludge. Additionally, 880 tons of lime solidification media and 45 tons of TerraBond solidification media have been used to solidify waste sludge.
