Private abandoned residence in countryside on about 5 acres. House has been occupied by squatters. A lot of debris/trash and tires along with the 44 55-gallon drums of concern.
A former propane tank that has been converted into a container for what appears to be some type of oil product.

1.1.2.2 Description of Threat
Containers are in poor condition, out in the open on the soil, some appeared to be leaking.
1.1.3 Preliminary Removal Assessment/Removal Site Inspection Results
An investigation by another EPA division discovered hazardous characteristic waste with 4 drums containing low pH waste, one drum with high pH waste, and 4 drums containing fluoride (all around 90,000 mg/L).

Saturday OSC Smith got a signed access agreement from daughter of property owner who has power of attorney.
2.1.2 Response Actions to Date
ERRS, START, and EPA met on site at 0800 July 1, 2013 to conduct a walk-through of the site. Afterwards they agreed on an operations plan and the HASP.
START sampled drums. Drums were overpacked. Field analytical work was done on drum samples.
Sample was pulled from propane tank.
2.1.3 Enforcement Activities, Identity of Potentially Responsible Parties (PRPs)
Grechen Schmidt and Cliff Villa were on site at 1000 to meet with daughter of property owner.

There's an assortment of small containers and household hazardous waste that has been found by sweeping the property. Tuesday we will collect samples from those small containers in order to do field analysis for profile to ship off site.
Wednesday will be mostly an ERRS presence to prepare material for shipping off site.
