1.1.1 Incident Category
Oil spill (hydraulic fluid) threatening combined sewer system (storm drain).

1.1.2 Site Description
Hydraulic fluid spill on side service street between 7th and 8th Streets and approximately 50-ft of Juniper Street in front of 905 Juniper Street.

1.1.2.1 Location
Service road (unnamed) between 7th and 8th Streets and a portion of Juniper Street in downtown Atlanta.

1.1.2.2 Description of Threat
Potential runoff would contact with storm drain (combined sewer system).

1.1.3 Preliminary Removal Assessment/Removal Site Inspection Results
Call from concerned store owner at the scene was forwarded to Region 4 Duty Officer of incident as well as an NRC report submittal.  FOSC (Andrews) deployed to investigate and found that spill was being cleaned-up by Waste Management personnel.  Traffic was controlled by Atlanta Police around stained road surfaces.

Hydraulic line rupture and spillage to road surfaces being managed by RP in timely manner.

2.1.2 Response Actions to Date
6/1/2015 (1000-hrs)

FOSC arrives on scene to investigate incident.  Personnel from Waste Management (WM) on scene with spill "sorbent" capturing gross contamination and crew enroute to complete clean-up with pressure washer and vac-truck. Atlanta Police controlling south bound traffic around a small area on Juniper.  Clean up to be completed prior to lunch traffic. Contacted GA EPD to advise of response efforts by WM.

No further involvement by USEPA.
