The following activities took place during the reporting period:
 
- Further restoration of BRSA 1 staging area for access/use by the public;
- Establishing staging / support area in BRSA 3;
- Maintenance / monitoring of temporary WCS (see photos); and
- Surveying & staking of potential support / staging areas for BRSAs 3-9.

  2.2 Planning Section
   

2.2.1 Anticipated Activities
During the next reporting period, the following activities are expected to occur:

- Continued construction of staging and crew parking area in BRSA 3;
- Continued land clearing in access / staging / support areas for BRSAs 3, 4, 6 & 9;
- Obtain access agreements from property owner(s) in BRSAs 8 & 9; and
- Maintenance / monitoring of the temporary WCS.

2.2.1.2 Next Steps
- Permits are being obtained from the Allegan County Road Commission and Michigan DOT for anticipated work in or along rights of way for remaining BRSAs;
- A planning meeting was held on January 25 for work in remaining BRSAs and removal of the temporary WCS; and
- An additional planning meeting will be held on February 22 for work in remaining BRSAs.

2.2.2 Issues

- As-built drawings are being reviewed and additional survey work is taking place around the temporary WCS in order to begin planning for the removal of the structure and re-direction of the river through the area.

A flyer was distributed door to door to make neighbors aware of tree-cutting and land clearing activities anticipated over the winter. Contacts for both US EPA and Michigan DNR were provided for any questions or concerns.

2.5.3 Information Officer
US EPA responded to press inquiries relating to work start-up during the week of January 23. Several articles appeared highlighting work start.
