2. Current Activities

2.1.2 Response Actions to Date

Continued to mobilize heavy equipment to the Site.  Completed construction of the project office area, an east side Site roadway access (including 18” culvert), and temporary laydown yard.  OIW began to relocate materials from the existing laydown area to the temporary laydown area to accommodate cleanup activities.  Started construction of other internal Site access roadways, including access to containment cells and Site ingress and egress.  Started construction of six containment cells for placement of contaminated material where the material will be characterized and segregated for disposal.  Started construction of laydown area for the installation of the groundwater treatment system.  Continued to install construction BMPs throughout the Site.  Continued coordination with ODOT and Clackamas County regarding cleanup activities.

  2.2 Planning Section
   

2.2.1 Anticipated Activities

2.2.1.1 Planned Response Activities

During the next two week period, it is expected that:  shoring slide rail components such as panels and spur posts for excavation of contaminated subsurface soil and water treatment train components such as a weir tank, storage tanks, filter media vessels, pipes and pumps for treatment of contaminated groundwater collected from excavations will arrive on-Site; all Site infrastructure features will be completed, including installation of construction BMPs, contaminated soil containment cells, and clean soil pad for storage of clean backfill material will be completed (excavation of contaminated subsurface soil will begin immediately thereafter); and decommissioning of certain groundwater treatment and/or monitoring wells, along with installation of new groundwater monitoring wells will be evaluated.

Continue to plan for and perform the foregoing activities, and maintain close coordination with ODOT, Clackamas County, and OIW.
