2. Current Activities
  2.1 Operations Section
   

2.1.1 Narrative

FEMA has issued a mission assignment to EPA to staff the ESF#10 desk at the FEMA RRCC, the FEMA JFO,  conduct ESF#10 operations for HHW and orphan containers, and to conduct debris removal. 

2.1.2 Response Actions to Date

Collection of flood related ESF#10 related material is continuing and will be brought back to the staging area on MoDOT property near Route 66 State Park off I-44 in Eureka, MO - drop off, open to public. Collections are beginning at the Eureka (Legion Park) location.

Oversight of curbside collections in Pacific and Arnold continues. Collected items are being documented upon receipt. Continuing collections in Union, Eureka, Valley Park and Fenton - curbside.

Orphan drums are being reported directly to EPA via an electronic "dashboard". MDNR has also established a link on their website to report drums. MoDOT has issued directions to MoDOT employees on how to deal with drums and containers.

EPA documentation and instructions for segregation are being distributed to municipalities. Residents are being made aware of the need to sort.

2.2.1 Anticipated Activities

Continued staffing the FEMA JFO and provide assistance as needed to the state.

Continued assessment and recon flooded areas to begin HHW and Orphan drum and container operations.

Continue general debris collection documenting each pass through neighborhoods.

The Region 7 REOC continues to be activated to assist with all field operations.

Establish additional staging locations and coordinate with the state on HHW and orphan container collection and recovery operations and general debris removal.

Plan for any boat/water operations and problematic orphan container recovery.
