2.1.2 Response Actions to Date

On Friday, October 14th, START conducted perimeter air sampling and perimeter air monitoring. ERRS and START sampled the two ‘mystery’ drums onsite: the blue poly drum appeared to be used motor oil and the ‘fuel oil additive’ drum appeared to be a solvent or, a fuel additive.  Chemtron LLC out of Avon Lake, Ohio arrived onsite to take samples for characterization. ERRS plans to ship drums to Chemtron. ERRS lined, loaded, wrapped, and sent a total of eleven (11) trucks offsite carrying ACM-contaminated debris for disposal at American Landfill, Waynesburg, Ohio.

On Monday, 17th, START conducted perimeter air monitoring. ERRS brought down the southern wall along Woodland Ave. Debris was combined with onsite ACM-contaminated debris to removed from the site. Traffic control was utilized to close the curb lane of Woodland Ave during the demolition. Temporary snow fencing was installed until permanent fencing can be installed. START directed ERRS in cleaning loose ACM pipe wrap inside the building.

On Tuesday, 18th, START conducted perimeter air sampling and perimeter air monitoring. ERRS wetted and double bagged loose ACM TSI pipe wrap on the first floor of the building to be distributed throughout truckloads hauling ACM-contaminated debris to the landfill. ERRS collected a total of 27 bags. American Fence installed a permanent fence where the wall was taken down along Woodland Ave. ERRS took one pressurized gas cylinder offsite to Linde Air Company of Garfield Heights , Ohio for disposal. ERRS lined, loaded, wrapped, and sent a total of thirteen (13) trucks offsite carrying ACM-contaminated debris for disposal at American Landfill, Waynesburg, Ohio.

On Wednesday, 19th, START conducted perimeter air sampling and perimeter air monitoring. ERRS wetted and double bagged loose ACM TSI pipe wrap on the first floor of the building to be distributed throughout truckloads hauling ACM-contaminated debris to the landfill. ERRS collected two bags. The roll-off box containing scrap metal was hauled offsite to American Metal Processing Company of Cleveland, Ohio for recycling. ERRS lined, loaded, wrapped, and sent a total of eleven (11) trucks offsite carrying ACM-contaminated debris for disposal at American Landfill, Waynesburg, Ohio. All ACM-contaminated debris has been removed from the site. ERRS deconned the excavators and skid steer for demobilization from the site on Friday, 21st

On Tuesday, November 22, ERRS oversaw the removal of two waste drums: one coal tar waste drum and one fuel oil additive drum. Drums were transported by Chemtron Corporation to their yard for disposal in Avon Lake, Ohio.
