2.1.1 Narrative
CurrentlyEPA is coordinating with TEMA, FEMA, and TDEC to conduct recon and asoperations become more safe, further assessment can be conducted.
2.1.2 Response Actions to Date
Duringthis reporting period EPA divided into two assessment teams. One team,led by OSC Garrard, conducted recon in areas of WesternNashville. The other, led by OSC Crowley, conducted recon ineastern and downtown Nashville,TN. The following facilitieswere inspected:
BulkTerminal (FRP) Facilities Inspected:
- Motiva – 1717 61st Street - Facility experienced no issues
- Cumberland Terminals – 7260 Centennial Blvd - Facility experienced no issues
- Magellan – 1441 51st Ave and 1609 63rd Ave - Facilities only experienced minor flooding due to rain
- BP – 1409 51st Avenue - Minor flooding within diked areas, should be operational 5/6/10
- Citgo – 720 South 2nd Street - Major flooding from River. Unable to assess due to flooding. Crews were pumping out diked areas. Need to reassess.
- Lion Oil – 90 Van Buren Street - Major flooding. One tank (700 bbls) was floating, but has set down. There is some sheening outside dike walls, most likely from a nearby facility.
- Marathon Nashville Terminal – 5 Main Street - Major flooding. One floating tank has since set down. Will need to pump out diked areas once water recedes.
- Marathon Asphalt Terminal – 930 Young Street - Operational. Minor flooding from neighborhood..

Nashville ElectricalServices – James Ave
· Approximately700 gallon used oil spill and 10,000 diesel tank floating
· Boomdeployed downstream – meeting with RP 5/6/10 to discuss cleanup
Parman Energy – Cockrill Bend Blvd
· Diesel ASTsand Lubricants – multiple oil spills located on the property, beginning cleanupactivities
January Oil – In vicinity of Lion Oil (waste oil recycler) –further assessment needed due to flooding.EPA will reassess with USCG 5/6/10
Exxon Bulk Terminal Facility – Tank 15 floating 6-8 inches,tank should be on the foundation by 20:00 tonight. Once the tank is on ground,they will begin pumping out secondary containment
Cave Road industrial park – various facilities for furtherassessment, including transportation company (Trimax) and cement sealantcompany (Clemons)
Advanced Plating – Large chrome electroplating facilitylocated in downtown Nashville. Unable to assess due to flooding. EPA and USCG will assess today by boat.
