On the afternoon of March 11, 2020 in Declo, Idaho a tanker truck crashed and released up to 100 gallons of diesel from the truck's saddle tank and approximately 2,141 gallons of a fertilizer acid mixture from the main cargo tank onto the pavement. The release occurred at the intersection of Highway 81 and Highway 77. The truck was travelling EB on Highway 81 and turning SB onto Highway 77 when the liquid it was hauling sloshed causing the truck to tip over. The fertilizer is a mixture of sulfuric acid, phosphorus acid, and elemental sulfur.

EPA has deployed OSCs Ball and Vanderboom to meet with IDEQ to ensure cleanup actions are adequate.
