At approximately 1700 central time zone a tanker truck carrying 6,200 gallons of off-road diesel fuel overturned on an entrance ramp to I-65 North in Montgomery, AL. Tanker had a capacity of 8,000 gallons. Upon arrival OSC Garrard observed the tanker continuing to release diesel fuel and I-65 North remained closed. ADEM responders and RP contractors were on-scene. Two interceptor trenches and sand berms were constructed to collect diesel fuel. A vac-truck collected approximately 2,100 gallons of pooled fuel. Excavation of impacted soils along median and grassy area between the I-65 / I-85 is expected.
