Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, is conducting the TCRA under an Administrative Settlement Agreement and Order on Consent, executed on January 31, 2018. A PRP Work Plan was developed and approved by the EPA On-Scene Coordinator on June 4, 2018. This TCRA will address threats to human health and the environment posed by the storage of hazardous wastes, rubber processing materials, and other pollutants or contaminants that exist on site.

The legacy owner and operator of the site was the Crest Rubber Company. The Crest Rubber Company used the buildings at the site as a warehousing and storage facility. A preliminary assessment conducted jointly by EPA and the Ohio EPA identified the presence of characteristic hazardous wastes including flammables, corrosives, and metals.

The work plan anticipates the following activities: moving and staging materials; sampling, segregating, and identifying materials for disposal; and consolidating and shipping wastes off-site for disposal.
