A suspected drug lab was discovered Wednesday night 3/9/05 in an apartment complex located in Asheboro, North Carolina. Subsequent to the North Carolina Bureau of Investigation (NCBI) assessment on Thursday morning, it was determined that the chemicals stacked up in the apartment were not related to drug production. Unknown bi-layered liquids, unknown powders, Grignard reagents, acids, bases, solvents, compressed gas lecture cylinders, and chemicals used in the manufacture of pyrotechnics were discovered. The NRC was notified by the NCBI. OSC Kevin Misenheimer and Tim Neal have responded to the incident.
