EPA dispatched an OSC and START contractors to the scene in response to a tank fire (NRC# 800308). A petroleum storage tank located in Glenpool, Oklahoma caught fire after a lightning strike. Thick black smoke from the fire is drifting to the southwest. There are reports of evacuations of nearby businesses and residential areas.

Fire crews on scene are working to keep the flames from spreading. Power lines in the area and the pipeline that feeds the tank have both been shut down.

The EPA ASPECT plane has been activated.
