The Washington State Department of Ecology and the King County Sheriff's Department requested EPA Region 10 assistance with the assessment and clean-up of a methamphetamine lab waste dump on a rural roadway in Federal Way, Washington.

An EPA Region 10 OSC responded with the support of the EPA Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team (START-2) Contractor to the incident to characterize the waste, consolidate it into wastestreams, and arrange for disposal. Efforts were undertaken in the evening hours in order to re-open the road to traffic by the morning commute.
