A Florida East Coast Railway train consisting of 22 rail cars and 2 locomotives derailed in Palm Coast, Florida. One rail car containing Hydrochloric Acid was breached, resulting in HCL being released into the environment. Response operations concentrated on providing air monitoring support for worker safety, as well as ensuring the off-loading procedures were conducted in a safe manner.
