At approximately 0615 hours on 14 August 2008, employees at the Freeman Food, Inc. located in Houston Texas, detected an unknown source of an ammonia odor. According to the RP representative, the building had 23 employees which were evacuated as a precaution. In addition, the Fire Department ordered a mandatory evacuation of approximately six town homes across from the facility and a shelter-in-place was implemented for a one-block radius surrounding the facility.
