This morning at approximately 0640 MT, 32 cars of a BNSF train derailed. Reports indicate that there is asphalt leaking from at least one car. There are no reported injuries or evacuations. R6 has been in contact with R9. R9 indicated that Navajo EPA may be dispatching personnel due to the close proximity to the Navajo Nation. R6 has dispatched its START contractor who are already located in New Mexico to conduct an assessment. An FOSC will be deployed if Site conditions warrant actions by EPA 6.
