The site is located in the 200 block of Hemlock Street, on Hookers Point in Tampa, Florida. The site is currently owned by TECO Energy as part of their transmission line. The site is about 2 acres, and it is wholly enveloped by neighboring property, including the Musselman Steel site to the south. The site is covered with battery chips from an undetermined source (although anectdotal evidence indicates a battery-cracking operation did operate on nearby property at one time). Elevated lead over the FL cleanup levels of 1,400 mg/kg exists on site. TECO has entered into an agreement with EPA to perform a removal action.
