A spill of 2000 barrels of high sulfur diesel fuel was reported to the EPA by the National Response Center (NRC), NRC Incident #736640, for the Explorer Pipeline Company located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The incident location occurred in Holdenville, Oklahoma approximately one mile west and one mile north of the intersection of highway 270 and highway 75.

OSC McCormick and an EPA Team were deployed to the scene to assess site conditions and provide air monitoring and/or other technical assistance as needed. EPA met with the Department of the Interior (DOI), the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) while at the site.

The release material did not reach any active waterways. Approximately 1200 barrels has been recovered at the site with more excavation and recovery expected.
