The National Response Center received a report of a fire at the cooling tower at the LyondellBasell Refining facility in Houston, TX, on March 15. According to the report, the cooling tower fire resulted in the release of particulate matter to the air. TCEQ requested EPA assistance in conducting perimeter air monitoring in response to the cooling tower fire at LyondellBasell plant. EPA START Team performed perimeter monitoring as directed by the OSC and did not observe any readings above background
