The site consists of three non-contiguous parcels where inactive salvage yard operations were the primary land use. The property had abandoned containers, debris mixed with PCBs, lead, asbestos, and mercury and a leaking tank car containing PCB oil.   The Michigan Department of Natural Resources Lake Linden Trail crosses each of the parcels.

EPA completed the cleanup in early October 2021.  EPA removed 2,955 tons of lead, arsenic, and PCB contaminated soil and 11 drums of PCB capacitors and batteries. The cleanup work will protect Portage Canal and the rails-to-trails Lake Linden Route used by bikers, joggers, and the local track team.
