On October 16, 2007 the Mississippi Department of Enviornmental Quality requested EPA assistance in assessment and monitoring cleanup activities at the site of a mercury spill at a privately owned building being rented for use as a federal court in Jackson, Mississippi. OSC Terrence Byrd and START contractors were dispatched to provide assistance. On October 17, 2007 OSC Perry Gaughan and additional START support were dispatched to assist OSC Byrd.
