On August 13, 2011 at around 1200 hrs, the Dallas Hazmat Team called EPA-R6 to request monitoring assistance from the air (ASPECT) in response to the 5 alarm fire at the Leslie's Pool Supply Warehouse in South Dallas, address 4202 Dan Morton Drive. Pool supply materials include mostly chlorine but other acids and oxidizers. RDO OSC Martin coordinated with ASPECT and secured a 90 minute ETA for the plane to be in the air. Dallas Hazmat indicated that at this point the plume seems to be going up and slightly to the north and not affecting ground level. The area is categorized as industrial and no evac are needed at this time. The NRC also notified EPA-R6 under NRC No. 985830

OSC Martin is en-route to the incident and also our START contractor to assist. EPA R6 will be coorcinating with TCEQ R4, also on their way. Another issue of concern is runoff water from the fire fighting operations.
