An OSC and START were dispatched to a release in Pasadena, Texas. The facility reported 600 gallons of wastewater released into Armond Bayou (NRC# 906156) due to unknown causes. The TCEQ representative on-scene reports that the company has been illegally dumping hazardous sludge over time. The facility is less that a mile from the Houston Ship Channel. At this time the TCEQ reports that Vincent Bayou is black from dumping activities conducted by the Responsible Party (RP). The TCEQ requested assistance from the EPA. EPA notified the USCG Houston MSO to determine their interest/jurisdiction. The USCG is mobilizing personnel to determine if any contamination is reaching the Ship Channel.
