The Shoreline Cleanup and Assessment Technique (SCAT) is a tool available to the Incident Command System.

This website is being used as the portal for all documents pertaining to the Mobile AOR Inland Oil Spill SCAT Training. The training is a multi party effort to raise the awareness and usefulness of SCAT skills during an INLAND oil spill in the Mobile (Area of Responsibility) AOR. This area is denoted by yellow in the image above.

The National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Agency (NOAA), United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM), United States Coast Guard Gulf Coast Strike Team (USCG GST), the Environmental Protection Agency Emergency Response Team (EPA ERT) and the EPA OSC for the Mobile AOR (South Mississippi and SW Alabama) will be participating in this training in conjunction with interested private companies, including pipeline operators, production facilities, and transporters such as railroads.

Interested parties should contact the Scientific Support Coordinator (SSC), Adam Davis with NOAA at adam.davis@noaa.gov.

This training was last conducted during the last week of January 2017. The audience consisted of multiple stakeholders from industry and government.
