On the evening of September 23, 2016 a tanker truck carrying 8,000 gallons gasoline overturned on Interstate 75 in North Port, Florida. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Sarasota County HazMat Team, and Charlotte County Fire Rescue initially responded to the accident. FDEP personnel notified the EPA of the incident and requested assistance. OSC Chris Russell was deployed to the site.
