On December 16, 2010, U.S EPA was notified of a mercury spill at a residential home located at 1603 Putnam Street in Detroit by the City of Detroit Health Department who was notified by the homeowner. A furnace repairman visited the home to fix the furnace and identified beads of mercury inside the furnace.
