The NYSDEC notified EPA that the owners of an automotive parts and repair company had abandoned their business and left behind almost 200 containers of used motor oil, automotive chemicals, and flammable liquids.

An OSC conducted a walk-thru assessment on 5/24/2012 and discovered there are drums staged in front of the main building near a highway, inside various rooms of the main building, in the rear yard near a pile of used tires, and in 3 outbuildings in the rear of the property. There is one live floor drain inside the repair bays of the building.

In addition to the above there are signs of areas of stressed vegetation in the midst of an overgrown field at the rear of the site, and the owners have filled in a wetlands area with drums, truck fuel tanks, auto gas tanks, used tires and the remains of a delivery truck. An active brook runs through this wetlands area and is believed to ultimately connect to the Hudson River, about 2 miles away..
