May 3 - a 10,000 gallon aboveground storage tank at the StoneCo trucking facility in Stoney Ridge, Ohio released 2,000 gallons of #2 Fuel Oil into a tributary of Henry Creek. StoneCo hired an environmental response company to begin removal of oil from the ditch. U.S. EPA OSC Brian Kelly responded and met with Ohio EPA OSC Dave Schilt, Wood County LEPC Director Larson, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and the U.S. Coast Guard. Sue Hanf of StoneCo reported that vandalism of the trucking facility was the cause of the release and the Wood County Sheriff’s Department was investigating. Incident was reported to U.S. EPA CID.
